Assembly
The projects we undertake are distinguished by their variety. As no project is like the next, the assembly process has to remain flexible too. We’ll discuss assembly by hand versus that by automation and we’ll consider a mix of techniques that include: mechanical, electrical, and electronic assembly; functional testing; sonic welding; riveting; heat stake; gluing; and pad printing. Our assembly and packaging team gives us the ability to provide the additional benefit of creating a retail-ready standard product.

Plastic Injection Moulding
The MGS Technical Plastics facility houses fully automated injection moulding machines ranging from 50 tonnes to 900 tonnes. We can support a wide range of projects and tooling at our facility, and the capability to manufacture anything from the size of a bicycle valve cap to a car door panel. Our moulding facility is supervised by Highly Skilled Technicians over a 24/7 period. All of our technicians are part of a training initiative that ensures that they have the skill, knowledge and experience to process polymers and optimise the injection moulding process. Robotic-assisted production provides operators with more time to concentrate on guaranteeing the levels of quality that we expect, while the robots in operation enable greater efficiency and repeatability in the process. Our manufacturing process is backed by our Quality Standards: ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016. Producing parts over a 24/5 operation with the flexibility to operate 24/7. We also provide Insert Moulding and Over Moulding.

Tool Making and Sourcing
Our highly skilled and experienced tool-making partners, both locally and internationally, build tools to a proven MGS specification and tools are stringently tested for production. With the addition of our CNC machine, our toolroom is equipped to manufacture tooling onsite. The expertise of our tool makers Our on-site tool room also provides support facilities ensuring the care of your valuable asset per international manufacturing best practices. The MGS planned maintenance programme, linked to our ERP system, provides reliability and results in every production cycle. We use approved tooling partners, alongside our toolroom, for modifications and engineering changes to ensure your tool has minimal downtime and remains in production, continuing to produce a high-quality output.

Project Management & DFM
We understand this process can be a new experience for some and MGS Technical Plastics will be here to guide you throughout. During the manufacture of your tool, the process will be overseen by a skilled project engineer. The process begins with a detailed design review, where the feasibility of the product and tool design are analysed and revised until final approval. During the tooling manufacturing process, we provide continuous communication and project updates so you can rest assured that the project remains on track and in scope.
