Printed Circuit Board Assembly
Cherrytech provides the very latest in PCB Assembly and Electronics Manufacturing with facilities ranging from through-hole conventional assembly to the latest in surface mount µBGA, 0201 and fine pitch technology. Our team of experts is fully trained to the industry’s recognized IPC-610 standard, ensuring each product meets our rigorous quality assurance protocols. We possess extensive experience in crafting PCBs for all market sectors, supporting you from the prototype stage right through to high-volume production. Our facilities are equipped to handle complex projects with precision and efficiency. To compliment our surface mount and leaded component assembly we inspect product using Automatic Optical Inspection and X-Ray equipment. Low Volume / Quick Turnaround PCB Assembly (Soumac Assembly Services)
Now part of the Cherrytech Group - Soumac Assembly Services are based locally in Portsmouth ISO 9001 accreditation means we have quality management systems which cover everything from the time your order is placed, to the dispatch of your assembly. IPC-A-610 (Class 2) Our aim is to provide a flexible, solutions-based approach to your circuit board assembly requirements, delivered on time to IPC-A-610 Class 2 Standard. Surface Mount Technology (SMT) We have 5 Essemtec pick and place machines with technologies that combine leading placement precision with speed, flexibility and a combined capacity of 25,000 cph. As part of our continual improvement policy, we have invested in the Essemtec Paraquda, with its ultra precise accuracy and vast component range spanning 01002 resistors to 80x70mm components. Designed for low-mid volume/high mix production, we offer flexible production with accurate and consistent results. Conventional Through Hole Assembly Some high power/high voltage components still require conventional through hole assembly. To ensure reliable soldering throughout the life of your product, all of our technicians work to IPC-A-610 Class 2 industry standard and provide extremely high levels of quality and repeatability.

Supply Chain
At Cherrytech we recognise that in the dynamic business environment in which we operate, an effective and efficient supply chain process is critical to the success of a company and its customers. From the initial prototyping stages and throughout the complete product life cycle, we work closely with our customers to ensure we have the optimal supply chain solutions in place for each stage of development. Our comprehensive approach encompasses all aspects of the Supply Chain process, with our main focus being on ensuring optimal material cost, whilst retaining the flexibility to provide high level solutions. Cherrytech has a highly experienced purchasing team based in both the UK and Thailand who can procure materials from many approved suppliers worldwide offering competitive pricing and lead-time whilst in turn being flexible and cost effective. With our engineering team, we are able to cross the problematic, expensive, long lead-time components from your BOM’s with the available sources here in Asia, providing you with another solution for your product. In turn we can supply samples (Form / Fit / Function) for your test analysis and further evaluation of your product as part of the alternative component approval process.

Unit & PCBA Testing
Testing assemblies is very much a customer-specific requirement and relates to the complexity and functionality of each board or electronic unit. Using product-specific test methods or customer tests, we can establish problems and help determine causes. We work with customers to produce, when specified, Special To-Type Test Equipment (STTE) to test electronic functionality, but equally, we can use customer-supplied test equipment. Environmental Test Chamber (Stress Test) Our inhouse environmental test chamber helps pre-qualify your PCB or electronic equipment by artificially replicating the conditions under which they might be exposed. This helps establish reliability, measure failure and analyse causes. Our chamber has a 190 litre capacity, with a temperature range of -40c to +180c and a humidity range of 10% to 98% RH (climate range from +10c to +94c). Counterfeiting Counterfeit parts pose a risk of not performing to specification or failing in the field. We ensure part authenticity by only purchasing components from our trusted distributors who have good control of their supply chain.
