About us
Established in 1984, Electron are distributors of electrical and electronic components, PCB production equipment, soldering irons and solder. We hold stock in our UK warehouse from over 100 manufacturers for next day delivery.
We are the manufacturers of the Mega Electronics PCB production equipment following the closure of the original company in 2019. Bench top models include the single bubble etch tank (PA104), Bubble etch tank with wash compartment (PA210) and the PA310 which is a process/wash and bubble etch tank. A stand alone Process tank (PA107) is also available.
Where more chemical processes are required we have the Labstation and Productions lines available with standard 10x12" baskets or 12x18" baskets, with or without a sink.
For fast production of PCB's (and other types of metal etching), the Rota Spray 2 can etch a PCB in 90 seconds. Rather than immersing the laminate (or other material) in the chemistry, it is sprayed onto the laminate for a set period of time, thus preventing over etching.
To support our production equipment we can offer the chemistry, artwork film and laminates making Electron the one stop shop for your PCB prototypes and small quantity materials.
As an official distributor for Antex, we stock their range of soldering irons, soldering stations, soldering bits and replacement elements. From Warton Metals we stock the Autosol and Omega ranges of Lead Free and Leaded solder on 500G reels.

RotaSpray 2
Redesigned in 2023 the popular Rota spray has many advance features making it an ideal upgrade to a Bubble etch tank. It is 3-4 times faster than a Bubble Etch tank and can etch PCB's in less than 90 seconds. Can be used for etching other metals. Overflow rinse. Submerges board holder in water. Operator can control the flow of the rinse using the valve supplied. Can be used as a static rinse and drain into a bucked. ideal when no water or waste services are close by. Sump drain has a high visible safety lock on. It can utilise a padlock lockout. The board holder has been redesigned to allow boards of different shapes and sizes to be clamped. Additional slots and center fixing have been included to provide maximum flexibility. A splash hopper is included to help contain the chemistry to aid clean processing. A digital temperature control allows the accurate setting and control of the temperature. Holds 10 litres of chemistry to reduce the need to change the chemistry. A safety cut-out on the lid cuts the motor out if the lid is raised during etching. Low level chemistry cut out. Tank weight (excluding water and chemistry) 14.5KKg The maximum board capacity is 10" x 12" (254 x 305mm). As the board is not immersed in liquid, there is no over-processing after completion. This makes over-etching very difficult. Supplied with mains lead and 13A plug.
Mega PA310
A self contained triple process unit with built in develop/spray wash/bubble etch functions to provide a convenient bench standing system and eliminate the normal mess associated with getting a prototype PCB to the solderable etched stage. Function tanks and splash proof controls are as standard, with all electrics brought together on the recessed front panel and the connections provided at the rear for drain and cold water requirements. The temperature is set by adjusting the variable thermostat control knob. (Optimum temperature for Ferric Chloride is 40 - 45 Deg C) Complete with an IEC socket and supplied with 2 metres mains cable with moulded 13amp plug and two syphons. Mega PA104
A single free standing etching tank for producing PCB's from either photo resist board or plain copper clad board. The tank includes a 500W heater and thermostat sensor. It also has a pump fitted which forces air through two bubble bars to provide and even etching. Separate illuminated switches control mains power and the pump, and a neon indicates heater operative. The switches and neon have splash proof covers. The temperature is set by adjusting the variable thermostat control knob (optimum for ferric chloride 40 to 50 deg C). Supplied with a syphon and 2 metre of mains lead with a sleeved 13A mains plug. Instructions supplied.
