Precision Castings is our modern cast aluminium foundry, based in Totnes; offering a high-quality Pep Set sand casting production and the efficiency and scalability from its vertical rapid loop-system, allowing us to produce small batches and larger volume runs. Pairing with our sister business, Goonvean Core Engineering, we can provide customers with an in-house machining, milling, and measuring centre, tackling large workpieces to more complex geometries, with the accuracy and reliability that comes with a complete inspection and control process.
Goonvean Core Engineering, based at Cullompton and part of the Engineering Centre of Excellence, is the state-of-the-art machining, milling, and measuring centre, purpose-built for custom parts, prototyping, and production. Housing global leading metrology bespoke 3-4-5 Axis machining and in-house CAD and CNN programming, we are equipped to supply parts for the Defence, Automotive, Scientific, and Instrumental and Industrial industries.

Milling and Machining Centre at Core Engineering
At Core Engineering we house some of the latest technology in machining, milling and measuring. If you're working with long heavy workloads, horizontally and vertically, irregular shapes or complex geometries, heavy cutting and precise cuts, we have all the capabilities under one roof.
Hexagon Global S CMM
The Hexagon Global S CMM, is one of the best contactless measuring machines in the market. Sub-micron and multi dimensional accuracy, delivers certainty every single time. With ability to check tolerances against CAD models or engineered drawings, measuring in less than 3 minutes it supports an industry with sub-micron tolerances where accuracy is critical.
Hedelius / Tiltenta 11 (5-Axis)
A full 5-axis heavy duty milling machine which swivels up to 18,000RMP and can load over 2kg rotary with a 245 tool magazine. The Tiltentia releases many machining tasks in mechanical engineering, tool and mould making, shaft and roller machining and the aerospace industry. On the one hand, the large work area with the infinitely variable swivelling main spindle allows vertical machining of long workpieces up to 6000 kg. On the other hand, precise 5-sided machining of parts weighing up to 1800 kg in oscillation mode is also possible thanks to the integrated NC rotary table and a work area partition. The machining centres impress with vertical stainless steel covers for optimum chip fall and a fully encapsulated work area as standard.

Precision Castings - Rapid System
The automated Rapid a vertical moulding line, a fast-loop system which can produce moulds over 10 times quicker than a standard moulding system. Which allows our customers to meet tight production schedules and respond to engineering changes without schedules slipping because of the design integration, prototyping and scalability.
