About us
The Electronics Group is the UK’s largest independent electronics manufacturing support partner providing electronics businesses around the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East with accredited IPC Training, Electronics Skills Courses, ESD Audit and Support, X-ray and non-destructive testing, and electronics/technical recruitment.
Formerly Electronics Yorkshire, we have built a reputation synonymous with provided high-quality services and being the industry’s go to support partner. Since 2003 we have operated from our HQ in Leeds, having moved to a new premises in 2023 to enhance the facilities offered to our customers. In 2024, we became the UK’s first and only Authorised IPC Training Centre to open a second site with our site opening in Cirencester. This move represents our commitment to ensure our second-to-none services are accessible to companies up and down the country.

IPC Training Courses
At The Electronics Group we are the UK’s largest independent IPC and Electronics Training Centre. We teach each of the main IPC certified courses: IPC A 600, IPC A 610, IPC WHMA A 620, IPC J STD 001, IPC J STD 001 Space, IPC 7711/21 and IPC CID. Our courses are delivered by our team of experienced Master Trainers who can deliver the courses to CIS, CSE or CIT level. We pride ourselves on offering flexibility. That’s why offer flexible training dates, and flexible training options. Some of our courses can be delivered remotely, negating any need for travel, and can be delivered wherever you are in the world. All our courses can be delivered at our training centre in Leeds, and the majority at your facility or our training centre in Cirencester.

Electronics Skills Courses
We recognise that not every business is ready to adopt IPC Certification and standards, or maybe they want to, but they need to up skill some of their staff to ensure a base level of knowledge and skills first. So we’ve created a range of Skills Courses aimed at everyone from complete beginners to seasoned professionals aiming to refine their existing skills to new technologies. Our Electronics Fundamentals courses consist of: - Introduction to Electronics Fundamentals - Introduction to Electronics Fault Finding - Understand the Dangers of ESD/EOS In our Soldering portfolio we offer training on: - Introduction to Through-Hole Soldering - Introduction to Surface Mount Soldering - Advanced Through-Hole Soldering including Rework - Advanced Surface Mount Soldering including Rework And our third core area is Cable and Wire Harnessing, consisting of: - Advanced Cable and Wire Harness Assembly

Recruitment Services
We provide Specialist Electronics Recruitment Consultancy Services to the industry. We understand that recruitment requires trust. Our reputation both in training and recruitment has grown to become many companies first choice partner for their needs. We’ve developed our reputation by offering a consultative service, driven by honesty and proactive working. At The Electronics Group we invest time to understand the full needs of our clients’ vacancies allowing us to recruit effectively and accurately. We do not believe in mass sending CVs in the hope of one standing out. We pre-screen all candidates so we’re confident we are only sending candidates who could truly fill your requirements.

X-Ray Inspection Services
We have a range of inspection tools, including a new state of the art Nordson Dage Quadra 3 x-ray machine. All of our inspection of electronics is non-destructive, meaning your products may be re-used, reworked, or repaired – rather than wasted. Should we find defective products, we offer consultancy services, Track Repair and other PCBA rework, repair and modification services, all in line with IPC standards. Most of our inspection equipment is available for hire to use yourself. Training will be provided where needed. Alternatively, we are happy to take delivery of your products to inspect on your behalf, with the option of a full IPC compliant report. We have supported the electronics industry for many years with our non-destructive electronics testing and inspection, with our x-ray inspection proving pivotal in the manufacturing and production of many electronics assemblies. We’ve supported with prototypes, potted boards, multi-layer products, cable and wire harnesses, large volume batches, RF filter void analysis, plus many more.
