Elastomers

Key characteristics
High elasticity: Elastomers can undergo large-scale deformation and spontaneously return to their original shape when the stress is removed.
Coiled structure: The polymer chains have a coiled structure that unkinks when stretched.
Weak intermolecular forces: These forces allow the chains to move relative to each other when the material is stressed.
Viscoelasticity: They exhibit both viscous (flow) and elastic (deformation) properties.
Amorphous nature: Most elastomers are amorphous polymers with good segmental motion
