X-Ray Inspection
Our TruView Prime X-ray system enables non-destructive inspection of hidden or internal features that optical systems can’t reach. X-rays pass through the PCB and the components, creating detailed images of internal structures such as BGA solder balls, bottom-terminated components, through-holes and multilayer board interconnections. This makes it possible to detect voids, insufficient solder, internal cracks, misalignments and hidden bridging.

Hand Assembly
Our Mascot Robotas equipment significantly enhances our hand-assembly capabilities by providing operators with guided assembly instructions, real-time visual inspection and improved process control. This technology helps ensure greater accuracy, consistency and overall product quality throughout the assembly process.

Auto-Optical (AOI) Inspection
Our Scanspection AOI systems use high-resolution cameras to capture detailed images of PCBs. Advanced software compares the images against the design specifications to detect defects such as missing or misaligned components, solder bridging and polarity errors. The system inspects boards during and after assembly, providing immediate feedback so errors can be corrected before further progression.

Conformal Coating
We offer conformal coating to protect assemblies from moisture, dust and environmental conditions. We have recently invested in an automated conformal coating machine to advance our capabilities on this.

Supply Chain Management
We provide supply chain management, sourcing components through trusted suppliers to reduce risk and improve reliability. We are flexible and can support several material supply options depending on your preference – Full customer supplied (free-issue) materials Partial customer supply, where some components are free-issued and others are sourced by us Full turnkey supply, where we manage all component sourcing When customers supply materials or components we take care of them and treat them with the same care and attention as if they were our own. All materials are handled responsibly, stored appropriately and managed within our controlled manufacturing processes.

Design for Manufacture
Our engineering team at Stewart Technology partners with you from the earliest stage of product development to optimise your design for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing. Our detailed DFM analysis includes component selection, PCB layout guidance and assembly optimisation. By incorporating manufacturability into the design process we ensure your product is built right the first time and every time after.

Wave Soldering
Our state of the art Blundell CMS400 wave solder machines work at high speed passing components over a wave of molten solder to secure components to the board. Our machines are reliable and flexible and provide us with the capabilities to solder both surface mount and through-hole components.

Selective Soldering
Selective soldering uses a precise nozzle to apply solder only to designated areas of a PCB. This process is especially useful for mixed-technology boards with both through-hole and surface-mount components. Stewart Technology operates three selective soldering machines, allowing precise control over each solder joint. This makes it possible to solder components in areas that cannot be wave soldered and manage complex or delicate board designs. Selective soldering reduces thermal stress on sensitive components and prevents solder bridging, improving overall board reliability. This high level of control ensures that even the most complex assemblies are soldered accurately, which is critical for boards with tight spacing or sensitive electronic parts. This process provides a balance of efficiency and precision, making it ideal for customers who need reliable mixed-technology assemblies, while maintaining maximum product quality.
