Graphic LCD Displays
Graphic LCD displays also have mechanical construction formats of Chip on Board (COB), Chip on Glass (COG), and TAB (Tape Automated Bonded) types. Positive and negative modes are available to create alternative appearances. Graphic LCD modules are available in reflective (no backlight), and transmissive or transflective types (with LED backlight). The LED backlights are available in various colours including yellow/green, white, and RGB. Interfaces include parallel, I2C, and serial. The majority of graphic LCD controllers do not include on board character sets, however we can offer a range of products which include T6963C (or equivalent) and ST7920 controllers which provide English and/or Chinese characters. Some ST7920 based modules are formatted to have the same footprint as industry standard 16x2 and 20x2 character LCDs. We can offer 3V, 3.3V, and 5V operating voltage options.

Graphic OLED Displays
Midas Displays offer a wide range of Passive Matrix Organic Light Emitting Displays (OLED) in character and graphic formats. These emissive displays are available in a range of colours on a black background (negative mode). The standard colours are white and yellow (offering 100K hours to half brightness), and also blue, green, and RGB. Operating temperature ranges are mostly wide at -40°C to +80°C . Advantages of OLED technology include very low power consumption, all-round viewing angles, fast refresh rate, and low profile display thickness. All OLED graphic modules in the Midas range have on-board controllers and interfaces include parallel, serial, and I2C. Sunlight readable technology is also available. Many small size graphic modules are ideal for wearable technology and handheld instrumentation applications.

Graphic Overlays
Graphic Overlays tend to be the face of a product and therefore it is essential that we spend time designing these aesthetically but also functionally. We can manufacture graphic overlays using polycarbonate or polyester and these can include features and functions such as; • Embossed buttons • Anti-glare windows • Secret until lit windows • Cut-outs for switches • Transparent LED windows Once you have decided on the layout and the artwork design for your graphic overlay, we can either digitally or screen print the detail onto the clear material before adding the features from above as required. We have the capability to recreate photographic quality printing onto the graphic overlays and therefore you can be sure that your logo and functions printed will be bright and bold. As well as under surface printing the graphic overlay to protect the ink we may also add lacquer to the product to enhance areas for either durability or for design so that when touched the selectively lacquered areas offer differentiation for the user. This would potentially help a visually impaired user or would be useful for a product that was to be operated in dark environments.
