      Supply Chain

At Cherrytech we recognise that in the dynamic business environment in which we operate, an effective and efficient supply chain process is critical to the success of a company and its customers. From the initial prototyping stages and throughout the complete product life cycle, we work closely with our customers to ensure we have the optimal supply chain solutions in place for each stage of development. Our comprehensive approach encompasses all aspects of the Supply Chain process, with our main focus being on ensuring optimal material cost, whilst retaining the flexibility to provide high level solutions. Cherrytech has a highly experienced purchasing team based in both the UK and Thailand who can procure materials from many approved suppliers worldwide offering competitive pricing and lead-time whilst in turn being flexible and cost effective. With our engineering team, we are able to cross the problematic, expensive, long lead-time components from your BOM’s with the available sources here in Asia, providing you with another solution for your product. In turn we can supply samples (Form / Fit / Function) for your test analysis and further evaluation of your product as part of the alternative component approval process.

Whether you have an established product or you are still in the development stages of your product journey, our dedicated business introduction team can offer advice on the lifecycle of your components. Using Silicon Expert, we can advise or completely take on the management of your bill of materials. Component and Vendor Management: > Identifying and mitigating component and supply chain risk long-term > Vendor selection and management > Establishing multi-sourcing channels > Building a bespoke parts forecasting strategy for your product > Identifying and avoiding counterfeit parts > Inventory management > Predicted end-of-life data and complete obsolescence management > Ongoing compliance management and quality assurance Logistics & Distribution: > Warehousing and inventory management > High levels of security > Worldwide distribution channels > Competitive distribution costs > Tailored logistics models to suit your requirements Commitment to Sustainability: In recent years, customers and stakeholders have grown increasingly aware of how crucial it is that companies fulfil their overall responsibilities to our communities throughout their supply chains, including procurement and production. Sony takes these concerns seriously and is working closely with its suppliers on initiatives in fields such as human rights, labour conditions, health and safety, and environmental protection. These initiatives cover not only Sony’s own sites, but sites throughout the supply chain — from parts and material suppliers, to mineral mining operations, to production sites operated both by Sony and by subcontractors. Our Commitment to You: This focus to a sustainable supply chain will be applied to your products as well. We will recommend established trusted vendors, or work with you to ensure your preferred suppliers meet our compliance standards. Through our established Green Partner programme, we work with suppliers and support them to implement best practices.

      Supply Chain Management

We provide supply chain management, sourcing components through trusted suppliers to reduce risk and improve reliability. We are flexible and can support several material supply options depending on your preference – Full customer supplied (free-issue) materials Partial customer supply, where some components are free-issued and others are sourced by us Full turnkey supply, where we manage all component sourcing When customers supply materials or components we take care of them and treat them with the same care and attention as if they were our own. All materials are handled responsibly, stored appropriately and managed within our controlled manufacturing processes.

Surface Mount Placement - Iineo II Machines

Our process explained: We use high-speed automated pick and place machines, to place components with micron-level precision onto solder paste, with exceptional speed and precision. We have a long history of using Europlacer SMT placement machines which consistently achieve high quality results. Our current line up includes multiple Iineo II placement machines, which are widely configurable and feature major benefits such as high feeder count, large board size and wide component range. Because our SMT lines are identical, we have interchangeable feeders and programmes, giving us the major advantage of being able to offer greater flexibility and consistency, as well as offline set up. We also have integrated manufacturing with conveyer belts to reduce PCB handling. Our specification: SMT Placement Machines - Iineo II Places 30,000 components per hour, per machine PCB size: 500mm x 460mm – Can work with larger PCBs with engineering management Placement accuracy from ± 35µm to ± 60µm at 3 sigma, depending on the component type Min size components : 0.4mm x 0.2mm (01005 case) Max size components: 50 x 50mm Two heads with 8 & 12 customisable nozzles each Max PCB thickness: 10mm In line electrical test, whole feeder or part feeder testing
