      Thermal & Acoustic Insulation

Managing heat, sound and vibration through engineered foam Thermal and acoustic performance is increasingly critical in modern engineered systems. Kewell Converters provides foam solutions that help control heat transfer, reduce noise and manage vibration across a wide range of applications. We support customers with material selection and component design to achieve specific thermal conductivity, sound absorption or damping characteristics. Solutions are used in aerospace interiors, industrial equipment, enclosures and transport applications where comfort, efficiency and compliance matter. By treating foam as a functional engineering material rather than a commodity, we help customers achieve consistent, repeatable performance in demanding environments. Explore our thermal and acoustic insulation solutions on the stand and speak with our team about your performance requirements.

    3. Thermostats

      Thermostats

As part of The Otter Group we manufacture motor protection switches for Otter Controls. The V series is a versatile bimetal switch, available either as a thermostat or thermal/current sensing safety cut-out. The V series operates as a thermostat with a narrow ±2°C differential, or a thermal safety cut-out with a ±5°C differential. The V series is auto-resetting, has a 13A rating, is highly robust and meets worldwide approvals. It can be provided in a wide variety of covers with venting and fixing options.

    4. Through Hole Assembly

      Through Hole Assembly

Our conventional Through Hole Component assembly facility is staffed with highly experienced assemblers who have access to a comprehensive range of component forming, placement and cropping tools and machinery. Soldering is either by hand or automated wave soldering as appropriate to the board complexity and batch size. The wave soldering machine is microprocessor controlled and operates within precisely controlled parameters using ‘no clean’ minimal residue fluxes to provide reliable high throughput production.

    5. Through Hole PCB Assembly - Hand, Selective and Wave

Through Hole PCB Assembly - Hand, Selective and Wave

Our process explained: Through-hole soldering is an assembly process where components are inserted through plated holes in the PCB, and are either soldered by hand, or using automation. We have multiple teams hand soldering, using a full range of JBC Metcal soldering irons, in accordance with IPC-A-610 standards. Our Jade Handex Selective Soldering machine has fully customisable soldering programs and auto-flux dispensing. Using infrared, it can preheat the PCBs prior to soldering, which reduces thermal shock & provides better solder joints. Our Blundell CMS400 is an industrial wave soldering system, used to produce high-quality, repeatable through-hole solder joints. This process is ideal for assemblies that must withstand vibration, high current, or long-term environmental stress. Our specification: Selective Soldering machine - Jade Handex Fully customisable nozzle tips with a wide range of sizes Customisable soldering program IR preheat of PCBs before soldering Quick load twin PCB rotary table increases efficiency PCB size - Min 102mm x 102mm & Max 457mm x 508mmAutomatic customisable flux dispensing Wave Machine - Blundell CMS400 Custom wave carriers can be developed Customisable profiling for speed, temperature & height Automatic flux dispensing

    6. Tin Plating (Sn)

      Tin Plating (Sn)

Tin is a soft, malleable, silvery-white metal that is available in abundance throughout many parts of the world. Tin-plating is used extensively to protect both ferrous and nonferrous surfaces. It provides sacrificial protection for copper, nickel and other non-ferrous metals, but not for steel. Tin plating is a non-toxic, ductile and corrosion resistant finish. Tin plating has applications in the electronics industry because of its ability to protect the base metal from oxidisation, therefore preserving solderability. TPG have a number of processes available (either dull / matt or bright) to electroplate tin using jigs, barrel and selective / all over reel to reel plating.

    7. TiZr Passivation - Chrome free conversion Coating

TiZr Passivation - Chrome free conversion Coating

TiZr is shorthand for the titanium zirconium passivation process applied to aluminium components. This removes the natural oxide layer and replaces it with a stable, chemically modified ‘shield’ layer. Passivation is also referred to as conversion coating. TiZr passivation creates a stable surface which will allow bonding and welding processes to deliver repeatable, strong, durable adhesive bonds. This conversion coating process also provides a stable base for powder coating and offers additional protection against corrosion. As the first metal treatment provider in the UK to install TiZr as a chrome-free passivation process (since 2001), Powdertech Surface Science is the most experienced outsource TiZr pre-treatment provider in the country with an unrivalled body of knowledge. We use the latest Gardobond® systems for TiZr passivation and apply it to aluminium components (cast, extruded or formed) to enhance adhesive durability for metal-to-metal bonding and welding. Powdertech TiZr matches anodising for enhanced adhesive bonding. Extensive testing shows that the stable, protective passivation layer achieved through Powdertech TiZr matches the performance of anodising for durability of adhesive joints. TiZr pre-treatment has a faster lead time than anodising, uses less energy and is a more cost-effective and environmentally appropriate process than anodising.

    8. Tool Design

      Tool Design

Tool design is the bridge between concept and production, where precision engineering turns innovative ideas into manufacturable solutions. At Flambeau Europe, our team develops injection and blow mould tools that are optimised for performance, durability, and efficiency, ensuring your product can be produced consistently at scale. Each tool is designed with careful attention to detail, combining advanced CAD models with industry best practices and DFMA principles. By integrating insights from material selection, MoldFlow analysis, and prototyping, we ensure the tool meets functional requirements while minimising cycle times, reducing scrap, and improving overall productivity. Our design process also considers assembly and downstream operations, ensuring components will fit and function correctly once produced. By addressing potential challenges at the design stage, we help avoid costly modifications and delays during production, giving customers confidence in both quality and timelines. Tool design at Flambeau Europe is more than engineering — it’s a craft. Our engineers bring technical expertise, precision, and creativity together to develop tools that not only meet exacting standards but also maximise the efficiency and reliability of your manufacturing process. This integration of design and manufacture ensures that every product moves seamlessly from CAD model to fully realised component. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀: • Precision engineering: Tools designed for accuracy, performance, and durability. • Optimised production: Reduced cycle times and scrap through smart design. • Seamless integration: Links design, material, and prototyping into manufacturing. • Assembly-ready: Ensures components fit and function correctly first time. • Reliability: Builds confidence in downstream production and quality outcomes.
