Welding and Fabrications
We offer you both manual MIG welding and TIG welding and comprehensive metal dressing as part of our sheet metal fabrication service; with an ability to weld mild steel, Zintec and aluminium components to create best in class custom precision sheet metal fabrications.

Welding MIG and TIG
Sweetnam & Bradley Ltd offer spot welding, stud welding, MIG/TIG welding, soldering and brazing as standard production processes. We hold a range of spot welding machinery from 6 K.V.A to 100 K.V.A. Our in-house welding section offers both MIG and TIG welding as standard, with full-time welders in place to provide both one-off and production batch welding. In order to increase production and cost efficiency, we maintain continual contact with local and national welding suppliers/manufacturers.

Wet Painting
Sub-contract wet coating, with 17 spray booths operating over two sites.
WET PAINTING AND POWDER COATING
For best results and better products, surface preparation is key. In fact, the quality of surface preparation can often be one of the most significant factors in influencing coating performance later on. It’s vital to get it right the first time, and that’s where our surface preparation team comes in. We use modern, automated, pre-treatment facilities to ensure the utmost consistency and removing grease and debris, whilst keying the material to maximise paint adhesion.

White Bronze (CuZnSn)
White Bronze is a tri-alloy with a composition of 55% Copper, 30% Tin & 15% Zinc. The alloy takes on the appearance of Silver and exhibits exceptional properties that are beneficial in radio frequency (RF) and other electronic applications. The coating is characterised by its high corrosion resistance, excellent levelling, abrasion resistance and good solderability. White Bronze is non-magnetic and therefore ideal for RF applications offering improved intermodulation performance and screening. TPG have many years experience applying this multi alloy coating using barrels and jigs.

White Metal Bearing Alloys
DKL Metals Ltd produce a comprehensive range of white metal alloys used for bearings in many industrial applications which include automotive, railway and ship propulsion. Alloys can be manufactured to BS 3332:1987 standard, British Railways WM requirements or other proprietary specifications. BS 3332 Series All BS 3332 grades can be manufactured including Grade B which is the equivalent to Hoyt 11R. This alloy is recommended for use in diesel engines but must be used with care as it is Cadmium containing. Proprietary Alloys Customers own specification alloys are also available, subject to minimum order requirements. British Railways WM Series WM1 This Lead free alloy is recommended for inside and outside big end bearings, where high loads are experienced. This tin based alloy offers excellent resistance to high temperature heavy loads. The base metal should be tinned with pure tin solder paint. WM2 This alloy is recommended for axle box lining for all locomotive applications. Good bonding properties. The base metal may be tinned with tin lead solder paint. WM3 Tin Lead based alloy for use in less critical applications. The base metal may be tinned with tin lead solder paint. WM4 High Lead based alloy recommended for low stress, non critical bearing applications such as shafts, trunions and similar linkages. The base metal may be tinned with tin lead solder paint. Availability DKL Metals Ltd White Metal Bearing Alloys are available in 8kg ingots, 4kg feeders or 1kg bars. Some alloy grades are also available in 3.5mm diameter wire, please contact us for latest information. All weights are approximate.
