Inline workstation
IN LINE WORKSTATION The In Line Workstation is used where manual assembly work is performed on the PCB without removing it from the PCB assembly line.

Insert Moulded Sensor Housing

Insert Moulding
We offer insert moulding such as these military audio connection terminals

Inserting
To meet the demands of the electronics sector, Broxton has established a significant capacity for fitting threaded inserts, leveraging 5 highly productive Haeger machines. Our skilled and experienced operators have honed highly productive techniques that allow for the efficient and reliable fitting of large quantities of mixed inserts per part, eliminating the need to split operations. Our production-biased machines enable us to fit over 2 million inserts per year, ensuring rapid and scalable output. Dedicated insert counters guarantee that no inserts are missed, significantly benefiting our customers' operations. We use high-quality threaded inserts from leading brands such as PEM, ensuring durability and performance in every application.

Inspection - Automatic Optical Inspection & X-Ray
Our process explained: We use a ALD625PRO AOI machine to inspect 100% of our SMT output for component presence, polarity, alignment, soldering quality, and workmanship defects. It provides fast, objective verification in an accurate and repeatable way, which ensures that defects are detected early and quality standards are consistently met. We run a first off of every SMT build through the AOI for programming and validation prior to build. We have an on-site Nikon XTV 160 X-Ray machine which is used to verify solder joint integrity and internal component quality. It allows us to see inside packages and solder connections that are invisible to optical inspection, making it essential for inspecting components such as BGAs, QFNs. It also has CT Scanning inspection. We are able to create custom X Ray programs for consistent part inspection. Our specification: AOI - ALD625PRO Fully customisable profiles and offline programming Board dimensions Min 50 × 50mm to Max 430 × 330mmBoard thickness Min 0.3mm to Max 10mm PCB component height up to 50mm First off inspection carried out on all assemblies X-Ray & CT Scanner - Nikon XTV 160 XRAY Spec: Xray spot size 1um Defect recognition capability: 500nm System magnification up to 36,000x Power rating of kV 160 kV

Inspection and Board Test
Following PCB assembly, each module is 100% inspected against original design and manufacturing data. Trained inspectors utilise Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) and comparascopes to ensure that product build quality is achieved every time. ATE can be used to cycle hardware modules through stringent test conditions and calibration procedures. Environmental testing services are also available for accelerated life testing (BURN-IN) of components and to confirm that modules conform to specification under varying environmental conditions.

Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Customer safety and satisfaction is important to ABUS, and putting the customer first has been the bedrock of 25 years of experience in the UK of installing, testing and commissioning crane systems. Our Projects Department will provide you with a dedicated Project Co-ordinator to plan the timely delivery, installation and testing of your ABUS equipment. If required, ABUS can provide the necessary install equipment such as mobile cranes, access platforms, forklifts and test weights. Our Projects team include Appointed Persons who are qualified to produce Lift Plans for the safe use of mobile cranes, whilst our skilled installation engineers are variously Crane Supervisors and hold SSSTS accreditation, and of course are familiar with the ABUS products like no other.

Instron machine
Instron equipment is an electromechanical universal testing machine, able to perform a wide range of mechanical tests including tensile, compression, bend, peel, tear, friction, and shear testing. Tests are performed on all the aluminium alloys we work with, from 3xxx series up to 7xxx series, and in all formats, cast, extruded and sheet. The results of our Instron testing enable us to work with our clients to help them to understand the optimal surface finishing pre-treatment process they need to take their bonding strategies to the next level, and to achieve repeatability going forwards. The Instron 34TM-50 tests materials in accordance with ASTM, ISO and other industry standards. It has a 50kN load cell and 80mm wide grips, with a thermal chamber capable of reaching 350C.

Intel ® 80C196KC 16-bit microcontroller
The 80C196KC MCU is a high-performance member of the MCS® 96 microcontroller family. It is an enhanced 80C196KB device with 488 bytes RAM, 16 and 20 MHz operations. It is implemented in Intel’s CHMOS III process providing a high-performance processor along with low-power consumption.

Internal Thread Inspection Systems
Our range of Johnson Gage Internal Thread Inspection Systems: Series GJ: Allows the Inspection of Internal threads for Maximum Material / Functional Size and Minimum Material / Pitch Diameter Size of the work piece.
INTRICOAT
Machined components are becoming ever more complex together with an increasing demand for finishes with premium aesthetics. This has intensified the requirement for precise powder coating on advanced and often delicate designs. Our INTRICOAT service provides a hands-on service for intricate designs, utilising masking schemes designed on CAD systems. We have invested in a dedicated separate facility, located within our plant, to be used exclusively for handling these small, complex components in low volume.

INTRICOAT - precision masking & powder coating
INTRICOAT is precise, defect-free, intricate powder coating with powder coat masking for low volume machined components. This is powder coating as you have never seen it before. Maskings schemes are prepared by our expert team on CAD, in discussion with you. Masking and coating is carried out in a laboratory style room with conscientious attention to detail and quality control. Your machined components have been expertly designed and engineered. They need a beautiful, durable finish. They need INTRICOAT. We are proud of INTRICOAT and take great pleasure in producing a skilled and flawless finish for your product. Designing a masking scheme. Intricate components require very precise areas of surface coating, often defined by masking schemes. We can design these schemes with you to a very high degree of accuracy on a 3D CAD system, meaning that potential pitfalls can be ruled out at the design stage before any prototypes need to be made. Coating thicknesses and tolerances will require careful measurement and monitoring. Specialist coatings and primers may be required. Every angle of every component will need to be scrutinised before it leaves our plant. INTRICOAT brings all of these disciplines together in a dedicated facility.

INTRICOAT : Medical masking
At Powdertech Surface Science, we understand that the medical sector demands absolute perfection. With our INTRICOAT solution, we deliver precision powder coating for complex, machined components. Specialised Expertise: Our experience allows us to understand your unique specifications and tailor our process including pre-treatment, masking, and coating. Bespoke 3D Masking: Our engineers can design custom 3D masking for complex components to improve accuracy, aesthetics and functionality of the machined components. Advanced On-Site Testing and quality control: We have an in-house lab with a range of tests available including cleanliness levels and coating thickness to ensure optimal powder coating results are achieved.

INTRICOAT masking
The ever increasing complexity and artistry of machined components in the UK has intensified the requirement for precise powder coating on advanced designs. This final stage of manufacture, the finish, seems inevitably to be under time pressure. You need your coating to be planned, executed and successfully completed to meet those tight deadlines. We understand these demands, and that they are growing year by year. In order to improve the service we offer and to help you meet the needs of your own customers, we have invested in a dedicated separate facility, located within our plant, to be used exclusively for handling small, complex components. The final stage for your precision part is the precision coating. With INTRICOAT we can plan that stage with you to be ready when you are.
