Bare Printed Circuit Board Manufacturing
Trusted PCB manufacturers for over 60 years. Newbury Electronics specialises in fabricating high-quality, competitively priced printed circuit boards for a range of clients. Working with our sister company, PCB Train, our PCB fabrication service delivers more different types of printed circuit boards per year than any other UK PCB manufacturer and relies on the talents of many experienced engineers to meet customers’ demands. With over 6 decades in the PCB manufacturing industry, we’re proud to offer huge flexibility over order scales and manufacture everything from PCB prototypes and small-batch PCBs to multi-layer PCBs, flexible PCBs and high-volume orders of more than 10,000. Thanks to our understanding of bare PCB design and fabrication, no order quantity is too small and no turnaround time is too fast. We are also renowned for our low cost, reliable deliveries, high-quality PCBs and excellent technical support and are the only UK PCB fabrication company that uses a completely digital PCB manufacturing process. We have full control over all our production processes, allowing us to rectify any issues, guarantee PCB quality and ensure that we can get your circuit boards to you exactly when you need them. We manufacture both locally in the UK and overseas. Our pre-production, small and medium batch PCBs are manufactured in our UK facility. For large production batches, we supply PCBs manufactured by our carefully selected international partners. However, regardless of where they are manufactured, our entire PCB fabrication process is overseen and managed by Newbury Electronics, so you can trust that only one tooling charge is applied. Once complete, each product is quality checked in the UK and our deliveries are consistently completed on schedule. See our guide below for a complete overview of how PCBs are made at Newbury Electronics.

Barrel Plating
As the name suggests this method of plating involves placing the items to be plated within a motorised barrel which is then rotated in the plating solution(s) to produce an even coating. This form of plating lends itself particularly well to the plating of high value stamped components as well as performed and plain strip. This form of plating is a high volume and low cost option for loose parts. Also available is a vibrobarrel for plating delicate parts.

Battery holders are available for a variety of different cells. Contact is made with SMD and solder pins. The advantages of using battery holders are: • Easy to insert / replace the battery, • Secure battery retention due to snap mechanism, • Clear separation of the contacts, • Short-circuit resistant, • Protection against reversed polarity, • Leakage current safe, • Solid construction.

Bench Top Spherical Lapping/Polishing Machine
Introducing the KemiSphere II, a cutting-edge Bench Top Spherical/Ball Polishing Machine designed to revolutionise the process of lapping and polishing spherical forms. This compact and versatile machine offers exceptional precision and efficiency, making it the ideal solution for various applications in spherical lapping. The KemiSphere II is engineered to achieve unmatched roundness and a flawless mirror finish of better than 5μm. It excels in both matching two spherical forms together and individually lapping and polishing spherical components. By replacing labour-intensive hand lapping methods, this advanced machine significantly enhances productivity and consistency in spherical lapping tasks. The KemiSphere II's intuitive HMI allows for storing component-specific programmes with customisable settings, including drive speeds, sweep angles, process times, and pressures. This precise control ensures repeatable and accurate lapping processes. Kemet offers process validation and optimisation through their advanced testing labs, ensuring all enquiries are addressed prior to purchase. The result is a pre-programmed machine tailored to specific applications. Equipped with three motors with independent variable speed control, a Siemens PLC and HMI system, and a pressure application system, the KemiSphere II ensures unparallelled performance and flexibility. Its compact benchtop design makes it a practical addition to any workshop engaged in spherical lapping. The KemiSphere II excels in processing parts up to 100mm in diameter, providing a cost-effective and consistent method for achieving a wide range of surface finishes on different materials. To simplify machine settings, it offers a manual and jog facility along with a single-button process start. With its CE marking and fully guarded construction featuring interlocks, the KemiSphere II prioritises safety without compromising functionality.

Bench-top Temperature & Humidity Chambers
ESPEC Bench-Top test chambers deliver environmental testing performance in compact units. Available in 20L and 60L capacities, the range of modes offers a temperature range from −20, to +180℃, with a humidity range running from 30 to 95% rh.

Bespoke Cable Assemblies
The cable division of the business was initially created to assist the expanding technical and medical development companies in the Cambridge area in the 1980’s. Over this time a wealth of experience and expertise has been gained to offer advice and solutions for all types of cable assemblies, whatever their intended application. The cable assemblies are now supplied throughout the world and the company can support prototype or small-volume quantities from their UK based headquarters, with large volumes being manufactured at their facility in Taiwan. With many of the cable assemblies being a bespoke product the company is happy to receive anything from an idea to a production drawing and with their wealth of expertise are happy to offer advice and solutions.

Bespoke Custom formulations. Resins and adhesives made to meet your application requirements.
We specialise in high-performance resins, offering tailored solutions for electronic potting & encapsulation applications and product assembly. Our products deliver exceptional performance in: Electronic potting compounds and resins Epoxy and urethane potting compounds Polyurethane potting compounds Electronic encapsulation resins Adhesives for various bonding

Bespoke Electronics Training Courses
We understand that not all manufacturers have a requirement to work or be trained to IPC standards. To compensate for this, we offer courses tailored specifically to your requirements. We will work with you to document all of your needs from a theory and practical standpoint, we then put a syllabus together to cover these requirements. Once the syllabus is agreed, the training can commence and can be reviewed and updated periodically to incorporate industry updates and changes. As always, this training can be at our custom built training centre setup specifically for these courses, equally we have the equipment needed to offer all of our training on customers facilities. Our website shows examples of our publicly advertised training courses from Introduction to Hand Soldering through to Rework of Surface Mount Devices that can be a starting point for course content consideration.

Bespoke Engineering

Bespoke Foam Solutions
Engineered foam components designed around your application Every project starts with understanding how the foam needs to perform in the real world. Kewell Converters specialises in bespoke foam solutions developed to meet specific functional, environmental and regulatory requirements. We work closely with customers at the design stage to select the right materials, define tolerances and optimise part geometry. This approach ensures consistent performance, repeatability and long service life, whether the foam is providing protection, insulation, sealing or structural support. Our in-house capabilities allow us to prototype, test and refine components before moving into production, reducing risk and accelerating development timelines. From one-off engineered parts to repeat production runs, bespoke foam solutions are tailored to the demands of defence, aerospace, industrial and product protection applications. Visit our stand to see examples of custom-engineered foam components and discuss how bespoke design can improve performance in your system.
